Asked in Child Custody for Tennessee

Q: Okay. A year ago I had to ask the father of my child to keep our kids because we split up and he moved back with his dad

I had no where at all to go with our kids when he and I split so i asked him to keep them until I get a place and things which he did and he got granted temporary custody..well he ended up screwing up and getting arrested and they were then placed in my mother's temporary custody. There have been a few court dates but yet i havent been informed of any of them so i have missed them which I know makes me look bad. But she could have told me or gave the court system my number or something. I now can't see my kids at all and I have no record besides a old criminal tresspassing charge which was a misdemeanor. What all do I need and have to do to get them back without a fight and a bunch of drawn out drama.... please help

A: I don't know that there is a way to get them back without a fight and some drama. You should consult an attorney to review all of the facts and advise you regarding your legal options.
