Q: can the person physically and verbally abusing someone you know go to jail if you go to the authorities instead of them?
My mom is in an abusive marriage, both physically and verbally. More verbally than physically there's been about 5 times he has gotten physical and he has even sent threatening text messages to her. She wont leave him for good, she leaves and always comes back to him. I honestly believe that it will be a matter of time before he kills her or she does something crazy. I am worried for her safety
A: You should be worried but remember it is your mother's choice. You can least a person to water but you can't make them drink it.
