Q: Can I get the adoption revoked through duress?
My fiancé kept on telling me we couldn't keep the baby because our family would disown us, we are not financially able to take care of a child because of the economy, my dads family still harasses us through social media, and we just couldn't. Every time I brought up wanting to keep her, he always shut it down. Then the adoptive dad came and kept on saying how we couldn't keep her because economically wise it wouldn't be good because we have to go to college, and we wouldn't be able to take care of her. Throughout the week they kept on shutting me down, and not even trying to talk to me about keeping her. When the time came to sign the adoption papers, I went through with it, but immediately after I knew I made a mistake and this isn't what I wanted. I know an adoption is final except for fraud or duress, but is there anyway with my situation where we can get her back? I feel like I was manipulated, and my fiancé said he's going into the airforce to make things better.
A: To annul the adoption you will need an attorney. How long ago did this happen?
