Will I get any of the money even though the lawsuit is not in the state that his court order for child support is in?
A: I have not researched this- and you should talk to a divorce attorney to get advice. But, if you know who the lawyer(s) is for the other party - I would suggest having a letter sent to the lawyer making them aware of a claim of a child support lien providing the amount owed. You may also want to file something in the case making the parties aware you claim rights to the proceeds based upon the child support obligation. Again, I would suggest you speak to a divorce attorney.
