Cookeville, TN asked in Criminal Law for Tennessee

Q: I’m 17 ,charged with simple possession, drug paraphernalia & when court came up the judge switched me to the circuit 1?

I was just curious because they were both misdemeanors and I was in juvenile court , I have been to court to him before so he does know me but he shouldn’t transfer it??

A: Did you have a transfer hearing? If not, he could not legally switch you to criminal court. You should consult an attorney.

A: Hire a lawyer now. You need to get it Diverted, Dismissed and Expunged. Convictions of those Crimes can hurt your life, including your immediate driving privileges. It sounds like you or your juvenile record disturbed the Judge. Apparently you have already had a Transfer Hearing.
