Q: I got a speeding ticket going 70 in 55 the officer dropped it to 62 in a 55 I admitted to speed and going 70.
He wrote that I said I was going 70 in the comments I want to fight it because I got 2 more speeding tickets 2 weeks after i got my first. I have never got any speeding tickets before this, I just hit some bad luck,I got a new car for work and haven't got use to it I don't want to get in more trouble if fight them. Can I loose my license sense I got all 3 tickets in a 1 month period? I really just want to go to court so I can try and get back a clean driving record.
A: You should look at retaining an attorney. Four traffic violations in twelve months or 5 in 24 months will result in a license suspension. Your attorney might be able to help you avoid one or more of the convictions. You also need to slow down.
A: Minnesota has a statute that we call "the Dimler Amendment" for historical reasons, which says that a speeding violation of 65 or less in a 55 mph or 60mph zone (only) will not go on the Minnesota drivers license record. It doesn't work for folks with a CDL (commercial drivers license), or drivers licenses from other states. When I get one of these, I just mail in the check! Works for me.
