Minneapolis, MN asked in Traffic Tickets for Minnesota

Q: I got pulled over for speeding and the cop put the wrong year make model and color. Any chance to fight it? I live in mn

I was in the left lane going between 70 and 80 I started slowing down and moved toward the right lane to take my exit. As I go to get in the exit lane I see a state trooper behind me. He pulled me over right after by this point I was going under 70 the speed limit was 55. I didn't see what lane he came from there was no one else in the left lane when I was in it. He asked me if I knew why he pulled me over I responded speeding he asked how fast and stupidly I respond around 80. I drive a 2008 Audi a4 black, on the ticket he put 1920 Chrysler 300 blue. I know I was in the wrong but it seems a little unprofessional to get the vehicle description completely wrong.

A: Identity of the car could be an issue at trial, but better to not mention that and try to see if the prosecutor will agree to an outcome that will keep it off the drivers license record, on conditions including payment of court or prosecution costs. If they never do offer that kind of outcome, have a court trial. A good defense lawyer of course can improve the outcome, either way.
