A: Sorry, but this is an extremely complicated question and so many factors are involved that it is truly impossible to answer in this question-answer format. There is no formula for setting spousal support. Under Tenn law, the two primary factors are 1. your need ( determined by what it costs to sustain your lifestyle- except that you be assured that it won't be exactly the same as your married lifestyle) and 2. your husband's ability to pay ( determined by his wages/salary and your marital bills). Tennessee law favors "rehabilitative" alimony, but your health issues may exclude that possibility. There several different types of alimony. Your best option to consult an experienced divorce lawyer soon to analyze your specific situation since each case is different.
