Raymore, MO asked in Family Law and Child Custody for Missouri

Q: Can I move out and live with my dad at 16 years old in Missouri

It's a very long story, but I need to leave my 'Legal Guardians' house and move away. I am more than happy to live with my biological father but my legal guardians are not ok with that. My legal guardians refuse to get me a personal counselor for my suicidal thoughts which they have been advised to multiple times by professionals and I have evidence of verbal abuse. The child services has been called 8 times. I want to stay in school and live with someone who is safe. I can't handle being with them until I am an adult... I am not ok. I know it seems like I am just a teenager and every teenager hates their parents but I promise that this is different. The pain is unbearable. If I cannot legally move out at 16 and go to a safe place without getting in trouble with the law then please I beg someone to tell me my other options. I have to get out, it's my only hope.

A: You cannot legally move out with permission from your guardians. Talk to your biological father, and have him speak to an attorney about his seeking custody over you.
