Q: What might the outcome be?
I am to appear in a few hours and recorders court for a simple battery-family violence hearing. I was detained in a holding cell for 13 hours on the day of my arrest and 3 hours in the general population area. My wife, the only witness and victim, is to appear as well. The arresting officer is a female. The judge is a female. I don't know who the prosecuting attorney is but I'm trying to find out if I can ask for a continuance so that I can have some time to find a good lawyer. I would also like to get an idea of what the purpose of tomorrow's hearing is, and what might be a possible outcome.
A: This isn't a family law question. You need to contact an experienced criminal attorney to assist you.

A: Recorders Court does not handle family violence cases. You may be having a TPO hearing where your wife is seeking a restraining order against you. You will definitely want to secure the services of an attorney prior to that hearing.
