Lawrenceville, GA asked in Adoption and Family Law for Georgia

Q: Can an adoption be reversed?

My children have been fostered by dfcs for 13 months and the judge speaks of adoption coming next court, but dfcs has falsified many documents on my behalf plus the one child of mine that is in foster home has been abused-neglected twice.

A: You need an attorney NOW. It is possible it is too late to reverse course, but, if the judge is talking about adoption that means you have not made adequate progress towards your reunification plan and your kids continue to be dependent. Once the kids have been adopted, it is permanent and cannot be reversed. Take this seriously and get counsel NOW.
