Asked in Criminal Law for Tennessee

Q: I have been court ordered three days community service in Memphis, TN. I work 7 days a week dayshifts. What to do?

I am really lost. I work 7 days a week 8 -12 hour shifts all during the day. Community service that I have looked into are dayshifts week days. I only occasionally get a Sunday off here and there. Are there any other options that I maybe missing here. I have heard of ways to get your days in by serving your community by doing something online, maybe after hours agent that works with court assigned volunteer hours. Any advice will be greatly appreciated . Thank you

A: Usually when I am in court and that subject comes up, I talk to the Judge about my client's schedule and negotiate an agreement that my client does his/her days when the work schedule does not conflict. Since you apparently did not do that at the time, I would have your attorney go talk to the Judge about the matter. If you do not have an attorney, I would consult with local counsel about the issue.
