Q: Landlord filed for eviction after getting notice he was reported for harassment and not keeping the home in habitable co
Each time I reported to him the repairs on the home he would call me cuss me out and tell me to get out.
A:
If you have an eviction filed against you you will receive a date for a court date. That is when you will have an eviction hearing before a judge. The landlord will have to present his evidence as to why he is filing for an eviction. You will have the opportunity to rebut his arguments and evidence. If you believe that this is retaliation, you should bring evidence of such. Have documents that show you are current on rent and that you are a model tenant.
Consult with a landlord/tenant attorney in your area for legal advice and representation.
