A: There are too many variables to speculate on. But one thing is for certain, the non-filing spouse will be the only one liable for any and all joint debts.

Jonathan David Warner agrees with this answer

A: Effect is limited. If joint debts, credit score of spouse will drop a little. Spouse might need to produce income records to trustee.

A: It will not affect the other spouse. If anything, the non-filing spouse will enjoy some of the Debtor spouse's bankruptcy protections.

Good luck with your case!

A: The nonfiling spouse is still liable for all of the debts that were in joint name, even though the filing spouse has been discharged.
