Q: Will a 5mph over speed limit conviction in Minnesota be sent to Illinois if on an IL drivers license?
Prosecutor offered a reduction from 10mph over to 5mph over and said in Minnesota this does not go on a Minnesota driving record. However, I am wondering if this gets sent to Illinois and will it go on my record there?

A: Typically, states will communicate with one another. Try to have the offense reduced to a non-moving violation to prevent a conviction on your record. Illinois can put a speeding ticket on your record, even if it's only 5 over.
