Opelika, AL asked in Family Law and Gov & Administrative Law for Georgia

Q: My ex want to call the police on me for withholding mail, but I'm out out town with no access to my mailbox.

Yes he tried to contact me for it, but I'm out of town & I can't & don't have a way to go back just for the mailbox. The mail he asking about is his work check. So what are my rights in this situation?

A: Why can't he go get it? He should probably have his work send his check to his address. You cannot open his mail, but it's not your job to be his courier.

A: I agree with my colleague, this seems like something he could get on his own. He should also have his check sent to a different address, so that he's not dependent upon you getting it for him. Homer P. Jordan IV, Esq. 404-620-1558 HomerJordan.com
