Q: I’m having trouble with ex husband giving me papers I need.
I have insurance for myself and my insurance is saying that my ex husband insurance is still listed as my primary. I haven’t been on it since 2013. My insurance company says he has to be the one to ask his insurance company for the paperwork that states I’m no longer covered. But he won’t do it. I don’t what else to do. I need insurance!
A: Have you tried calling his insurance company directly? Or the human resources department at his employer if the insurance is through them? Your judgment of divorce should stand for any questions they might have to confirm. If that doesn't work, and you are unable to get cooperation from him, you may need to file a motion with the court.
