A: I cannot answer this definitively and I don't think anyone has a crystal ball yet who could answer it but as a general rule felonies are more serious than misdemeanors so the chances probably go up on a felony versus a misdemeanor. Contact a skilled NY traffic and DUI lawyer as they can tell you more about the likelihood of this. In Virginia they would definitely extradite you in most jurisdictions and if you failed to answer a charge it would be more serious in most cases. Contact a skilled NY DUI lawyer who can better advise you.
A: Depends on what county? What type of Charge? Take care of the case in NY now by hiring an attorney. They can schedule a surrender date. With my clients I schedule surrenders and negotiate bonds before my clients turn themselves in. GET AN ATTORNEY IN NY now. because if your picked up in any other place other then where the case is, you may have to wait a really long time in Jail. Then you will need 2 ATTORNEYS one still in NY and in the county you were picked up. Stop waiting and get an attorney.
