And it was never served just placed under our door
A: 10 day notices to pay or quit premises are not filed with courts and they are not served. Indiana law requires them to be posted conspicuously on the property or affixed to the door. It can also be handwritten as long as it contains the necessary information, identifies what it is and who it is from.
