Q: what is the procedure to obtain an arrest warrant for civil contempt of court in a paternity case?
I filed a pro se motion for an order to have an infant child blood and tissue tested to determined the child affiliation to me. The court granted my motion and ordered the defendant to report to the testing laboratory on a specific date and time to have the child tested. The defendant failed to appear at the testing laboratory for the testing procedure as ordered by the court after being personally served.
A: You or your attorney will need to file a Rule for Contempt, asking that he be held in contempt for failing to appear.
