Q: Received letter from DCFS requesting verification that support be continued.
My daughter will be 18 in July. She is currently studying online with KAPLAN for her GED.
Enrollment ID: 1301077455
Purchase Date: 09/01/2018
Expiration Date: 09/01/2019
Once she has her GED she can and will apply for work in order to help provide for herself. Her options are limited since the non custodial parent in arrears of $4666.60 and hasn't paid child support since February 2019. This is a reoccurring pattern since 2007 when I filed for child support.
Being homeless at times no family no transportation little to no money has delayed my daughter's future. We haven't given up and we are working to get her GED by September 1, 2019.
What do we do in order to continue receiving child support and to get the arrears that are owed.
A: Respond to DCFS that she is still in secondary school. She is entitled to receive child support until she turns 19 or gets her GED, whichever comes FIRST.
