Wheeling, IL asked in Traffic Tickets for Indiana

Q: Hello. I have received a failure to obey traffic control device ticket, 392.2C in Dearborn IN. CDL driver. Need help.

I was driving towards Plainfield In and I got detour because of the flood and my gps led me on the wrong road. I drove on this road for 8 miles, I got pulled over just a mile away from the highway. There was no accident or any kind of damages involved but still got the ticket even though I explained the officer that I got detour. I want to deny the violation, but I need a lawyer which is very hard for me to find because I live in Chicago. If I only pay the ticket which is $146 how does it effect me and how does it effect the company as well?. What is the best thing for me to do?

Thank you!

A: If you simply pay the citation it will likely add points to your record. In IN it is a 4 point violation; it will also affect your employers safety rating. You should consult with a local attorney who should be able to negotiate a lesser offense that should have no points on your record and not be considered masking. Use the find a lawyer feature to find an attorney close to where your case is pending.
