Douglasville, GA asked in Child Custody, Child Support and Family Law for Georgia

Q: can the County of Los Angeles hold my Child Support case for 10 years then try to collect even if they knew where I was?

2 cases were filed against me from two women, I was served and made to pay on one in 2009. Now they are trying to serve me on the other even though they had all my information and could have served and prosecuted me on both at the same time.... am I liable for 10 years back support? I moved to Georgia in 2006

A: You need to talk to an attorney about your case, but in general, you will be liable for the child support.

A: If you had been ordered to pay child support you will still be held responsible for it. It doesn't go away until it is paid. You may want to consult with an attorney who can review the facts of your case and present you with the options. -Homer P. Jordan IV, Esq. 404-620-1558 HomerJordan.com
