Q: what are the penalties for a ticket in Illinois for not having the proper registration for a vehicle
I purchased the vehicle for my stepdaughter who lives in Missouri we took it to Missouri to get the inspections needed to title it in Missouri it did not pass emissions test so we brought it back home until it could be fixed. A block from the house she was pulled over and issued a ticket for not having the proper registration.
IS This A Moving Violation?
A: A fine would likely be assessed if she simply pleads guilty. However, if you can obtain registration prior to court, bring it with you and the ticket may be dismissed.

A: Bring the updated registration to court and the ticket will likely be dismissed. If you need additional time, appear in court and request time to fix the registration and come back with the correct registration and it will likely be dismissed.
