Q: If my fta sentence is a mandatory 30 days but I bond out will I have to serve those 30 days?
A:
It really depends on a lot of factors. The facts of the case will dictate what the District Attorneys may ultimately offer. There are alternatives to jail time, such as probation and community service. Ultimately, the judge must approve everything.
Bonding out just gets you out of jail for the arrests and charges at the time. Bonding out from an arrest has nothing to do with sentencing; however, if you do get jail time as a result of a sentence, then you may be eligible to count time already served in jail as part of the jail time to which you are sentenced.
