Asked in Child Support for Pennsylvania

Q: My husband has a child with his ex. He recently got a significant raise at work, will she be notified of the amount?

She is also married and pregnant with her second child (by her husband) and she works part time under the table. We are trying to conceive our own child and I’m worried he will get screwed and it will affect our ability to financially provide for our child.

A: If there's a support order in effect, actually your husband is required by that court order to notify Domestic Relations of any change in his income. No, absent your husband's notice to DRO, the ex will not be notified. Your husband needs to sit down with an experienced family law attorney to discuss his options and the possible ramifications of a failure to give notice of the increase in income
