Vero Beach, FL asked in Child Support for Louisiana

Q: Are there any guidelines in louisiana about how child support is to be used?

I've been paying child support to my ex this year for our 3 yr old daughter. My ex has a job where he maxed out what he will be able to make something like 17 an hr, because of a lack of education, no g.e.d etc. Before the child support he was constantly complaining of not being able to afford this or that unnecessary item. Now he is going on vacations and buying expensive t.v's among other items that I know he cannot afford off his income alone. I know the best option is to hire a lawyer and a forensic accountant, however before I do that I want to know whether or not him spending the child support I pay to him for our daughter is allowed to go to whatever he wants or if there are rules about what he can or cannot spend it on.

(I live in Louisiana however that is not where I am currently.)
