Ponchatoula, LA asked in Family Law and Child Support for Louisiana

Q: Ex filed for tutorship for which I was never served and fled with my son to Mexico. What can I do?

She had her lawyer file stating they could not locate me, however my address is updated with the courts and we have been to court for the last 17 years 4 times this year alone. I was never served for the tutorship. We have an ongoing child support case. She took my son to Mexico in June and recently got a decree to be able to call in for our upcoming trial date. She has no plans on bringing him back to the United States. How is she allowed to call in when I go to every court date and she is obviously not coming back to the country and her lawyer is aware of this? The child support case was also her motion.

A: You now have a Hague Convention custody case and need a custody/child support lawyer who can take a Hague case.
