Q: Is it legal for the cops to take my car even though it was parked in my yard
My boyfriend took my car so I repeated my car stolen yesterday he parked the car with the keys inside back at my house which is the address associated with my car I wasn’t home when the cops arrived to my house they came to my mom house which is 2 houses away from me to tell them my car was parked somewhere illegally and they towed it but they lied Because before I left to stay somewhere else I saw and knew my car was in the backyard what can I do is this even legal for them to do
A: It's difficult to understand your question when you use a single run-on sentence; but as I understand it the police towed the car that was packed in the yard and you want to know if that's legal. It would depend upon the local ordinance pertaining to parking. It may be, for example, that parking a car in a yard isn't permitted. As them to cite the ordinance or other law pursuant to which they towed the car.
