Q: Can they keep my child away and require only me and my family to do screenings to be around the baby?
Substance found in me and my child's system at time of birth. A safety plan was put in effect but was revised without my knowledge. I havent been informed of the new plan which apparently I'm not part of. But they say nothing has been changed but his cousin now watches her. Also he is moving from house to house every night. Even after her father, his cousin, and I were all three in a physical altercation with each other, I was still told to contact him to see my child. Her father has not been legitimized and is also homeless. I have now gotten my own place and am trying to see her and they're making me get background checks and drug screens for everyone in the home but did not ask for that information from him. Everytime I ask for copies of the case files I am denied and thats if they even answer. What am I supposed to do?
A: You need to consult with an attorney about your options. No one can give you specific advice about an ongoing case without hearing your story and reviewing the case file.

A: Without knowing the facts of your case it is difficult to provide you with guidance. You should consider consulting with an attorney who can review the facts of your case in detail and present you with options. Most attorney's provide a free consultation. -Homer P.
