Q: Parenteau rights
In the state of Georgia if I sign my parents all rights away well I still have to pay child support I am court ordered to pay but my daughter is not legitimize so I don’t get to see her in the mother wants me to sign my rights away
A: You will still have to pay child support unless she is legally adopted by a stepfather. If you go through the legitimation process you will have legal rights to her and be able to visit her. You may want to consult with an attorney about filing for legitimation. This is not up to the mother, as it's not her decision to make. -Homer P. Jordan IV, Esq. 404-620-1558 HomerJordan.com
