Chicago, IL asked in Traffic Tickets for Illinois

Q: Ticket for no insurance?

My sister was driving my car and it didn’t have insurance at the time. She got hit by a car and got a ticket for not having insurance. She has court in a few days and I still haven’t been able to put her under my insurance policy but the car has insurance now. My question is, is having the insurance on my name enough for the judge or does the insurance of the car have to be under her name?

A: Give her the proof of insurance that you have now. It will be considered late compliance and make her eligible for Court Supervision.
