Roswell, GA asked in Criminal Law for Georgia

Q: How long does it take to get monetary restitution after the judgment has been made in Fulton County, GA?

I was told by a Fulton County prosecutor that I'd be getting $500.00 in restitution from a man who stole and pawned some of my jewelry. When and how will this happen?

A: Most likely, that restitution amount is a part of that individuals sentence in Fulton County. If so this means that this individual will make restitution payments to his probation officer who will process them to you as the victim. Your payment will be dependent on that individual's adherence to the terms of their sentence and will not be paid to you until that individual pays their restitution. Good luck!
