Asheville, NC asked in Traffic Tickets for Tennessee

Q: Got ticket in Jasper, TN for use of cell phone. Family Emergency. Court is Nov 4th. Need to work. Car Trouble. Advice?

My grandmother is sick and I was on the way to see her. She is still very sick. I did apologize to the office and told him where I was going. He did not believe me. I need to work in the court date and I’m having a little car trouble. However, I don’t want any points on my driving record or my insurance to go up. I’m a good citizen and I’m a safe driver. Court is in the morning and I need to work but I also don’t want this ticket to count against me. What should I do?

A: You are probably guilty. You can go to Court and it might be dismissed, but probably not.
