La Vergne, TN asked in Traffic Tickets for Tennessee

Q: Can I get a speeding ticket dismissed?

I got a ticket by a city cop in Rutherford county for going 45 in a 30. Should I pay the fine or go to court? He made 2 errors on the ticket where he put one of my last names as a middle name when I have no middle name. He also stated that my vehicle is not commercial when it indeed has a commercial license plate. Upon further inspection I also noticed that he mixed up the fines and stated that the court costs are $110 and the speeding fine is $20.

A: You should definitely go to Court. Hopefully the DA will talk to you about it, and you can describe the discrepancies which seriously affect the Citation. Be respectful and it might go well.
