Alpharetta, GA asked in Child Support for Tennessee

Q: Need back child support after the kids graduate high school.

Scenario: Divorced 2005- Ex Husband was ordered to pay $1000 mth. He only paid $800, not a dime more. Sometimes not even that. The agreement for the last 14 years, was he would pay me directly. Which he deposited into my account every Thursday.

Children (twins) were seniors last year, and we (he and I) had an agreement hat I would not take him to court IF he continued to pay until the boys finished their first two years of college, then I would release him of any back child support. He continued to pay after they graduated in May, $200/week, until September. He got sick, was out of work for 3 weeks. He paid one more time after that, and stopped paying. He continued to tell me he was going to pay, and please don’t take him to court. Then he stop communicating completely.

He owes me $200 a month for 14 years = $33,600.

A: You can contact the office of child support enforcement. Otherwise, you should consider consulting and hiring counsel to determine your best course of action.
