Q: i need to get a divorce but im on ssi. where do i go?

A: This is really something that the divorce attorneys here would know best. But your post remains open for two weeks. You could contact the Legal Aid Society to see if they could offer assistance or direction; they list divorce as one of the areas in which they offer help to the public. New York has a dense concentration of law schools. Some of the professors who teach domestic relations law and family law are retired family court judges or litigators. If you could reach a professor or maybe one of their faculty student groups, they might be able to offer leads about legal clinics, pro bono services, or other resources. There are probably other resources; you may stumble upon more once you start looking. Good luck
