A: The circumstances of your case are unfortunate, however there is no way for you to get your money back. You can petition the court to set aside paternity. It is best to consult an attorney who can assist you with the specifics of your case.

A: You will not be able to recover the monies that you have already paid for child support. Given the age of the child, depending on how long it has been since paternity has been established, you may not be successful in setting aside paternity either. The court will look at the best interest of the child here. If you are the only father that this child has ever known, they are not likely to sever your obligation at this late of a date.
