Q: Does my fiancé have to adopt my daughter before we can change her last name to his? He’s taken care of her since age 2.
My daughter has her biological father last name but he was charged with child abuse and neglect against my daughter when she was 18 months so he hasn’t been in her life since then my current fiancé has been helping me take care of her since she was 2 years old and she told us she wants his last name she’s now 9.
