Tampa, FL asked in Personal Injury for Florida

Q: Is it required by law to inform a family member if the resident of a memory care facility falls?

Came to see mom at 3pm she had a lot of trouble standing and screamed when she took a step. I was told she fell at 10am and told by someone else she fell 2x. I had the facility arrange she go to hospital - she had 2 fractures in pelvis.

A: You correctly posted this under the Personal Injury category; it is a personal injury matter. But your question remains open for two weeks. This might be something that attorneys who handle nursing home cases would be more likely to know. There is a section here for Nursing Home Abuse. Although "abuse" is more often associated with inappropriate and oftentimes willful conduct, it might be the closest section here to your matter. You could repost there as well to increase the chances for input. I hope your mom experiences a good recovery. Good luck
