Q: I'm fighting a speeding ticket in carlton county. It was an "unusual stop" according to prosecuting atty. The Pr atty
Was suppose to send me their evidence and hasn't yet. Court is march 12. The cop didnt actually stop anyone at first, he stopped on the freeway got out of his car and started flagging ppl over. I was in front of him & could see him in my mirror. The truck behind me also stopped. I waited, he didnt come to my car. Me and the truck started moving then left. Then he pulled me over came up yelling saying next time you see flashing you pull over, I told him I did & you didnt come to the car. I asked why he stopped me he said you know why let me see your license. I gave it to him he gave me a citation for doing 90in a 70. I told him I wasn't going 90. I was speeding w/my cruise set at 80. I was in a pack of cars-3+. He said he clocked me at moose trail. There is no moose trail. He said he had the truck pulled over behind me as well which he didnt. I told him I'd see him in court and he said he had me on dash cam I said he better bring it with. Loc is wrong on tix as well by 10mi. I do??
A: Fight it in court, ideally with a lawyer. The discovery request you make to the prosecutor should be written. Then follow their directions to get full discovery. Or your lawyer will. You may be asked to pay copy costs. 80 in a 70 is still guilty, so work on other defenses.
A: Get an attorney to represent you in this matter. You can and likely should fight the ticket with help. Do not represent yourself here.
