Nashville, TN asked in Domestic Violence for Tennessee

Q: Domestic Assult case-TN

My boyfriend has a pending domestic assault case with me (Minor bruise to the arm). Part of his bond was that he was to have no contact with me. We got back together and he moved into my house while this was pending and we got into a fight that resulted in a bruise on my arm and him spitting on my face which, he was arrested for. They put a 10k bond on him and gave him a GPS tracker facing him with a felony for it. My DA, against my wishes wants to press charges. 1) I have stated that I was messing with my arm making the mark more prominent 2) I wrote my police statement hammered and don't remember writing it (we were both intoxicated) and 3) I 100% do not stand by my DA. Can she really put him in jail considering I am stating I messed with the mark on my arm and I was hammered writing the police report with 0 memory of it? That's the only evidence in the case...I dont understand why she thinks she could win this one? Could she?

A: Yes, the Attorney General can prosecute whether you want or not. This happens all the time. The best thing you can do is to not contact him, talk with his attorney and be prepared to testify.
