Tucker, GA asked in Child Support for Georgia

Q: Custodial parent has not claimed/received child support payments I have made to DCSS (GA) in 7 months. What do I do?

Per court order, payments were set up through DCSS by me, the NCP, 7 months ago. Custodial parent has not received or claimed the funds from them. Several questions: 1- Can he claim I haven't paid CS and file a motion with the court and hold me in contempt (I have records I've officially paid). 2- Can my CS case be dismissed with the state of GA due to the fact he has not claimed the money? (He says that he didn't receive any letters from the state asking him how he wanted to receive it.) 3- I screenshot the main page from the app I pay CS thru and sent it to him and showed him thru the app my payment history. Can he still file contempt on me for failure to pay?

4- I do not have an attorney nor access to one (no funds for one). Is this something where DCSS attorney's will represent me IF he files contempt charges on me (even though it is NOT true)?

Thank you, for taking the time to read and/or answer.

A: Yes, he can file contempt if he doesn't have the money. You will not be assigned an attorney. No one has a right to have an attorney in a DCSS contempt as the obligor. You likely will need an attorney to sort this out.
