Mesquite, TX asked in Divorce for Georgia

Q: What should I ask for at my divorce mediation/what happens if I don’t show up

I completely left my life in Colorado to pcs with my husband and he cheated within the first month of our marriage(I don’t have physical proof because he destroyed the phone I had it on) he physically and emotionally hurt me. He’s currently being investigated by CID (he’s in the army) for domestic abuse and sexual assault. Both my sons (5&7 previous relationship) have also been emotionally hurt. Everything is in his name including my Jeep (he hasn’t paid off) he does own another vehicle that is paid off and pays me spousal support which is what my boys and I live off of and the bit of money I have saved, but it’s running out and I’m completely depressed and very stressed because I don’t know what to do.

A: We can not tell you what you should be asking for during your mediation without having all of the facts of your case. If you can not afford to hire an attorney for full representation, you should at least consider consulting with one to discuss your options.

A: You really should work with an attorney who can know the facts of your case in detail and help provide you with guidance. Without that in-depth information about your case we can’t provide you with a solid route to take or how to approach this. You should show up for mediation. -Homer P. Jordan IV, Esq. 404-620-1558
