Q: I got ticket for doing 20 over. Supervision with traffic school for $229 is an option. Could a lawyer do better?
Last night I got a ticket from Batavia police. My record is decent with no other moving violations for well over a year. Previously I used a lawyer for my daughters violations and it proved useful. But in this case I'm not sure a lawyer could do any better than the supervision option. So should I just take the easy option?
A: This is your call. If you mail in the ticket and request Court Supervision, you might not get it. If you do get it, you will have to complete Traffic Safety School. If you do not get it, you will be given a conviction and in order to remove the conviction, you will have to motion the case up, pay a motion fee and make sure to give proper notice to the prosecutor on the case.
A: That is probably the standard offer and I doubt a lawyer could lower the fine enough to justify the fees you would have to pay

A: I agree that Supervision with that fine is a good outcome. Since you have not had any other tickets for awhile I don't think you need lawyer unless you have a CDL license or the speed was 26MPH over the limit
