Knoxville, TN asked in Traffic Tickets for Tennessee

Q: got a speeding ticket 16mph over speed limit 3 months ago and paid it. 1.How long for it show on my record? First ticket

I'm worried if it will show up on TBI/ FBI/State/criminal background check. No fingerprints taken. So far haven't seen it on my MVR although the county uploaded the summary? online (no identifiers, just my name). Is speeding treated as a crime in TN?

In retrospect should have gotten a lawyer but it was during the corona shut down. 2. Also is it possible to get a lawyer to reopen the case if it will show up on records...possible to get it dismissed? I am a healthcare worker and was going to work at the time.

A: You definitely should have hired an attorney. Speeding is a crime, but such class c misdemeanors usually do not get placed on your NCIC. You will probably have 3 points added to your MVR for the last 12 months.
