Q: I am looking for some legal advice for a family member he is currently facing criminal charges he is not being treated
He has Been going threw a split with his wife as of last year she had been having an affair with a police officer she has made many attempts to cause many problems for him. The officer also has arrested him and stole personal property during intake his wedding band He did not include this ring on the property sheet when the officer booked him. the officer has been in their home he broke up their marriage Jose is
currently in the s.l.c metro jail and he has been treated Badly on restrictions, write up's, left & right weeks without mail,phone call broken items and then taking his money to replace them he even was placed into a cell where the previous person has covid ! No one should have been in those cells even the health department people clarified that. He is looking for help it has been months and his court keeps getting postponed we don't understand what is going on it has been a quarter of a year already and nothing has been done we would like answers on what's going on.
A: If he does not have a lawyer, he needs to get one ASAP. His lawyer can explain what is happening with the courts.
A: Unfortunately, many courts have basically suspended the Constitution during the panic raging over coronavirus. I agree with Ms. Cleveland that, if he does not qualify for a public defender, he needs to obtain private counsel immediately.
