Q: can be kicked out of the house I'm renting for legally taking my prescribed medications
My prescriptions are subutex and xanex
A:
If the only thing the landlord is evicting you for is taking prescribed medications, then no they don't have this right and you will win in court.
If you have any other issues, such as behavior issues resulting from the medications that put people or their property in danger, you can be evicted.
If you don't have a lease and you are renting month to month, then the landlord only needs to give you 15 days notice before the end of the month.
If you have any trouble making your rent payments, or you are breaking any other part of the lease, then your prescription medication has nothing to do with the eviction and it is legal.
