Shreveport, LA asked in Child Support for Louisiana

Q: Will I be arrested and jailed for a child support warrant although I have paid for the past 18 months?

I learned from my case worker that I had a warrant from child support court. This is after he approved my driver's license reinstatement after seeing that I had been working and paying on arrears for 18 months which cut my arrears in half (from $13k to $6k owed at present). The license reinstatement has helped tremendously. He only told me to talk to the clerk of court and try to go before the judge to clear it up. He also mentioned that the warrant was several years old and was issued before I consistently started paying my arrears. I do remember not showing up for court years ago so I'm sure that had something to do with it but I was never notified that I had a warrant. I am scheduled to pay all of my arrears off by August of next year as my career and finances have stabilized. I'm confused because no warrant ever came back while I've worked the past few years in background checks. Please help. Thanks.
