Chattanooga, TN asked in Traffic Tickets for Tennessee

Q: Speeding ticket 107 in 65

Hi, I received speeding ticket 107 in 65 zone in TN. Trooper say this speed was caught on radar and asked to appear in court or call to know total fine which is 250$. I think i was not over speeding this much. So should i go court and fight my case or pay fine and move on with it considering other implications on insurance and points. If i loose in court than do i need to pay extra other than ticket fine ? Any suggestion please

A: You might consider going to Court and seeing if the DA will allow you to plead to a 25mph over, which might help a little. Points on your last year's MVR is the problem. And as soon as you get a ticket, it is very easy to get another and you are only allowed 11. The costs are going to be the same or close either way. Be respectful in Court.
